Sfera produces customized bent glass to satisfy diversified needs

One of the leading manufacturers of bent glass, Sfera has been successfully operating in the industry since 1976.

The company is in constant expansion thanks to its extreme professionalism and continual technological upgrading.
Bent glass is achieved by subjecting the glass to a gradual heating process with temperatures reaching 500 to 600 degrees Celsius. At those temperatures the glass softens and can adhere via gravity to a curved mould (either convex or concave) placed on the bottom of the heated area.

The next stage is cooling, which is carried out very slowly. This way the glass acquires a resistance to flexing that is not only higher than flat glass but also higher than flat tempered glass.

The customized bent glass achieved is ideal for the home furnishing and lighting industry as well as for special applications.

The bending department is one of the two main sectors of the Sfera manufacturing plant. This is where bent glass is produced in compliance with UNI EN 1727 standards, including glass that has undergone other processes beforehand such as for example sand-blasting, screen printing (also on the outside of the curvature), engraving or acid etching.

To further improve the service provided this department can count on an in-house workshop at your disposal where configurations that guarantee prime quality results are designed and created.
